Traditions in Buddhism
Established upon the foundation of Buddhism - the Four Noble Truths - the Buddha gave many instructions to many varied themes and life questions. The major Buddhist traditions have differing emphasis and are strongly influenced by their regions and cultures.
This diversity of teaching analysis and possibilities for practice is according to the diversity and inclinations of humankind.
Therefore different possibilities for developing the mind are offered. But whatever Buddhist tradition it may be, in each of them the same aim is sought: the development of the inner faculties, the development of love and compassion, the attainment of a peaceful mind and finally the fulfilment of complete enlightenment, the complete development of every human’s inner potential.
In Austria you can find Buddhist groups in all traditions.
